Description
This is a pick from our first round of testing and (still) an excellent splurge for the seasoned tea drinker. $300, 51 oz Breville capacity with a stainless steel base, it’s technically a kettle – but it’s also a tea kettle, and by far the most ornate electric kettle we’ve tested. It features hot water and tea buttons with settings to specify the perfect temperature for brewing green, black, white, herbal, oolong, or custom and fine teas. You can also choose whether you want strong, medium, mild, or custom tea. The digital display gives you a readout of what it is the brewer works and has a keep-warm button that helps keep water hot for up to 60 minutes. In addition, the Breville comes with a basket for your loose-leaf tea that automatically starts when you select your options, as well as a teaspoon measuring spoon. As a tea lover, I really liked these features, but it’s a luxury appliance that’s only worth it if you’re a regular drinker of loose tea and have a coin counted on such an expensive teapot.
