Pettigrew recommended this 1.7-quart Cuisinart PerfecTemp Kettle, which is on the larger side of kettles and has a flat bottom, and is “much more like an old-fashioned kettle that you can put on the gas”. Although it lacks the gooseneck nozzle, it has six preset temperature settings, including 175 degrees Fahrenheit for green tea and 200 degrees Fahrenheit for French press. However, Pettigrew emphasized that these temperatures are not always accurate and we recommend checking them with a thermometer if your cooking depends on a very precise temperature. This kettle also features a 30-minute keep-warm function and a 360-degree swivel base for wireless portability.
