Description
This enameled cast iron Dutch oven has the features we love when baking bread – a metal knob that won’t disturb the oven’s heat, a wide flat bottom for a good crust, and the ability to withstand heat above 500 degrees. With all that, it still has an affordable price tag that leaves some money to pay for luxurious flours, ingredients, and tasty toppings. Of course, a good Dutch oven can be used in many ways, so we tested this model in our lab with non-bread tasks. He is generous with a large cooking surface where we were able to fry the chicken without sticking. We found that the browning results were not as even
as with other models we tested but it cooked the rice perfectly without sticking or burning. The white interior makes it easy to follow the browning process and see the fond (or caramelized brown bits) developing at the bottom of the pot.
